Just a quick shout to acknowledge Wrongful Conviction Day. Needless to say, we are in need of such a day, recognizing the serious flaws in our criminal justice system regarding Wrongfully incarcerated individuals, while simultaneously we can celebrate those who have been fortunate enough to have their freedom restored. As you well know, it takes monumental effort and patience to overcome the challenges of injustice -deliberate or otherwise- so I just want to take a moment to encourage all you wonderful supporters to continue to raise hell and fight against this unbelievably flawed system of ours. It takes a collective force of the willing to make the necessary impact and change in this country/world. I also encourage the Wrongfully Convicted, whoever you may be, to remain patient and hopeful about your respective situations, no matter how hopeless or impossible it may seem. Easier said than done, I agree, especially for those of us who have been wrongfully incarcerated for untold years already. Hang in there, and just know that there are those who do care, and who are fighting on our behalf to have freedom and justice restored to our lives.
My personal battle has seen me wrongfully incarcerated for some 26 years, or to be exact 9742 days now and I pray daily that the end is in sight.
Okay, like I said, just a quick shout to acknowledge, and to give thanks & encouragement. Stay blessed out there, and enjoy this transitioning of seasons. Til next time….
