Light a candle for Tim

These are two of Shawn’s latest paintings, commissioned by Swithin Fry to illustrate some of his publicity material and for his website http://www.echoesoftim.com . Tim Coleman is a fellow Ohio inmate also fighting for his innocence and Swithin has dedicated a stage show to Tim in order to raise awareness of his case far and wide. He also has a campaign for Tim that involves lighting a candle on the 25th of each month to remember him, and to show Tim that the world is thinking of him and concerned about his plight as an innocent man on death row. At present, there are 156 former death row prisoners who have been fully exonerated, while many others, like Tim and Shawn, wait for their chance at freedom. Shawn is no longer on the row, but his sentence is life without parole, which is still a death sentence by any other name and Tim’s appeals are running out although someone else has admitted to the crime of which Tim has been convicted. Keep them both in your thoughts – stronger together.

Great pictures, Shawn – many thanks. A poetry friend described them as ‘a haiku in pictures’. Keep strong – keep drawing! Swithin Fry
