The link above is to a Washington Post article that outlines returning to the idea of prison gardens that benefit both inmates and the community, similar to the one Shawn mentioned in his latest blogpost. Shawn’s scheme adds fresh fruit and vegetables to the local food bank, rather than being used within the prison, but Shawn can also benefit from a percentage of what he grows too, adding something fresh and healthy to the otherwise monotonous standard prison fare.
