Hey Everyone,

Yes, it is me once again. I couldn’t let this holiday go by without wishing you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. I pray you are getting to enjoy special time with all your respective families and friends. Needless to say, I will be thinking of all the households out there with your beautifully decorated tables filled with some of the best dishes of the year. Personally I have fond memories of some of the Thanksgiving meals whipped up with the kind of tlc that only the loving hands grandmas are capable of 🙂 I can still feel the love inside of me from all those delicious holiday meals. And I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the tlc from the hands of my mom, aunties, sisters and cousins (all of whom helped to filled the house up with those amazing aromas. And I don’t know about the rest of you, but we even have some guys in the fam who help to make those holiday meals special. For the sake of this holiday, though, I give a special loving shout out to my ganny, who is still going strong, and my grandma, Merinda Walker, who is no longer with us. Theirs is a love that sustains throughout. Also, I would like to give a shout out to the three men from Cleveland who were recently exonerated, and given their freedom back after almost 40 years of wrongful incarceration. I find this absolutely amazing, and it’s a strong, unmistakable testament to what’s possible when the truth that is on your side is combined with hope, faith, love, and hard work. These men held strong in the face of what seemed an impossible nightmare, and have emerged with their truth intact. Their respective scars from the experience will be what they will, but their newfound freedom will surely be a welcome balm to their souls. Needless to say, they are home just in time for the holiday(s), and have plenty to be thankful for. I offer a toast to these men (and the many who have come before them), and wish them the very best as they now embark on this new chapter in their lives. I have no doubt that they will be enjoying a very special holiday meal with friends and family this year. I look forward to the same someday, God willing. And with that, I would ask that you not only keep me in your prayers and thoughts, but these newly released men as well. A special prayer out to the family of Michael Brown. Your loss and pain is acknowledged and deeply felt. I can assure you, your son’s death will not be in vain; justice and change will prevail. In closing, I wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving once more. Save some of that mac & cheese for me, please (a big slice of pecan pie, too -smile). Wish I could receive pix of everyone’s Thanksgiving tables, but I trust they will all look just as delicious as I envision in my mind 🙂 Eat up and enjoy! Will talk with you again soon. Peace & love!
