Racial disparities inherent in the US criminal justice system

An article on the Center for American Progress website outlines ten facts about racial disparity, showing that racial equality in the US is still as far off as ever.

People of color account for 30% of the general population, yet 60% of the prison population and 1  in every 15 African American men and 1 in every 36 Hispanic men are incarcerated in comparison to 1 in every 106 white men, and one in three black men can expect to be imprisoned within their lifetime.
